Maeve Moran

Maeve joined Speckled Egg as a guest company member in 2020. Previously she worked with us at Speckled Egg summer choreography intensives. She was invited to take part in our online classes during lockdown and, we’re delighted to say, she’s been with us ever since. Maeve brings vibrant joy to our company practice – she is a thoughtful and heartfelt choreographer who balances strong emotion with an intelligent dancing body. She is always generous with her feedback on other dancers’ work. Maeve is always good fun.

Maeve choreographed her solo, Dance from the Darkness into the Brightness, in December 2020 in response to a child she knew who had been seriously ill, and who subsequently recovered. Maeve’s solo is about how she also was very unwell, and her experience of getting better. In this solo, for the first time, Maeve made considered choreographic decisions about the dance she wanted to make, rather than simply responding to the music. Maeve, you’re an artist.
